“We back, baby!”

Florida Georgia Line’s Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard made an unforgettable entrance for their surprise reunion on Thursday night (June 4), the first night of the Country Music Association’s CMA Fest in Nashville, Tennessee.

Pro boxing and wrestling announcer Michael Buffer announced the duo as thousands of fans filling Nissan Stadium cheered. Buffer, 81, said, “you are about to witness the most historic event to take place at CMA Fest. …Let’s get ready to rumble!

“In this corner, coming to us from Ormond Beach, Florida, he is Brian Kelley!” Buffer announced. The audience cheered as Kelley, 40, emerged at the top of the aisle in a stadium section on one side of the stage. Buffer continued, “and in this corner, from Monroe, Georgia, ladies and gentlemen, Tyler Hubbard!” Hubbard, 39, appeared at the top of the aisle in the section opposite his duo partner. 

“CMA Fest, let’s make some noise,” Buffer continued. “It’s bro country back again. United, they are FGL!”

Hubbard and Kelley began walking down the stadium aisles as Florida Georgia Line’s “Round Here” began to play, high-fiving concertgoers as they made their way to a platform stage in the middle of the crowd. After performing the hit single from the duo’s 2012 debut record, Hubbard addressed the audience.

“We got three things we want to say tonight,” he said. “First of all, God is good. Second of all, life is short. And most importantly, your boys,” Hubbard said as Kelley joined in, “we back, baby!”

Florida Georgia Line, who continued their two-song reunion with “Cruise,” seemingly hinted at a reunion leading up to the surprise CMA Fest moment. The duo’s profile photo on their social media accounts updated for the first time since 2021, revealing an image that simply reads, “FGL LFG,” seemingly standing for Florida Georgia Line, Let’s F***ing Go. That image also appeared on billboards around town. Wayne D and Tay of iHeartRadio’s The BIG 98, based in Nashville, Tennessee, spoke about the “huge news” earlier this week.

Hubbard and Kelley announced in February 2022 that they were “taking a break” as a duo to pursue solo projects. They performed their final show as Florida Georgia Line in August 2022. In recent months, however, the two singer-songwriters have shared photos with one another that stirred eagerness among fans for a reunion. Hubbard posted photos with Kelley at the 59th CMA Awards in November 2025, and Kelley later shared a throwback photo of the duo partners in 2016.

Both duo partners have addressed rumors of a reunion and hinted at the possibility of FGL performances in recent months. Kelley appeared on an episode of Country Outdoors, a Field and Stream podcast, and said “I think the options are endless right now. …But if I do think about it, it does excite me. So, we’ll see.” Hubbard told Entertainment Tonight’s Cassie DiLaura last month, “we have been toying around and flirting with the idea of playing a handful of shows next year. And so, that gets us both excited.”

CMA Fest is hailed the longest-running country music festival in the world. Festival goers can catch hundreds of artists performing on several free outdoor daytime stages throughout the event. Artists performing on the main stage at Nissan Stadium include Bailey Zimmerman, Blake Shelton, Carly Pearce, Cody Johnson, Deana Carter, Ella Langley, Gretchen Wilson, HARDY, Jason Aldean, Jordan Davis, Keith Urban, Luke Bryan, The Red Clay Strays, Riley Green, Russell Dickerson, Shaboozey, Tim McGraw, Tucker Wetmore and Zach Top, among others. CMA Fest kicked off Thursday and runs through Sunday (June 7). Riley Green and Lara Spencer will host the televised special, which will air on ABC at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on Thursday, June 25. The show will be available to stream the following day on Hulu.
