Broccoli: Super Food

In April acting on a hunch, I asked my doctor to check my A1C ( blood sugar average) because I was just not feeling right.

According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), nearly 1 in 4 four adults are living with diabetes – 7.2 million Americans – don't know they have the condition. Only 11.6 percent of adults with prediabetes are even aware they have it. They are at risk of developing diabetes within five years.

If you were looking for a super food that will keep you from diabetes and keep you healthy and give you lots of calcium, it would be broccoli. You don't have to eat a lot of it, but you should eat it often...like tree or two twice a day.

The best way to cook it in order to keep nutrients in, don't boil or steam it, nuke it.

To clean broccoli of pesticides... soaking it, drain it and slightly wet put it in Tupperware with a lid not tight. Microwave it about 2 minutes. or more depending upon how crunchy or soft you like it, and how much is in the Tupperware and how thick you cut it.

How do I eat it? The low cal heart healthy way, I squeeze fresh lemon juice over the top of it. Not only is it low cal, you get more vitamin C that way.
