On the 4th of July, eating champion Joey Chestnut ate 71 hot dogs and buns in ten minutes to win his 12th Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest. He didn't break last year's record of 74 but he won convincingly. The next closest competitor was Darron Breeden, who came in second place after eating 48 hot dogs.
If case your wondering how Joey's winning intake breaks down:
Calories: 20,590 - Fat: 1,172 grams - Cholesterol: 2,130 milligrams - Protein: 781 grams
That can't be healthy.
Recently he revealed to ESPN the intense training exercises he does to prepare to eat 74 or more hot dogs in ten minutes. ESPN tweeted a clip from the documentary “The Good, the Bad, the Hungry” about the training he does and it's not only bizarre, it's disgusting.
GROSS, he's actually swallowing a ton of AIR. Those belches are DISGUSTING!
Joey not only chows down hot dogs lightening quick (without puking) he holds records for eating 141 hard boiled eggs in eight minutes. He also ate 121 Twinkies in six minutes, 53 soft tacos from Taco Bell in 10 minutes and a record 55 donuts in 8 minutes. He even ate a 5 pound Burritozilla in less than two minutes. How this guy does it and not gain weight, I'll never know. I look at food and I gain.
Joey Chestnut is the most competitive eater of all time who holds 49 world records as recognized by Major League Eating. He currently, with endorsements, makes about $600,000 a year. WOW! Who knew competitive eating paid so much.
