Has GPS ever sent you on a route that seemed a little off? My Maps App has an issue with my street and it always tells me to go to the end of my dead-end street, pull a u-turn, then it routes me to where I want to go. It's annoying and I normally just ignore the u-turn instruction. Unfortunately for drivers in Colorado, they didn't ignore their GPS instructions.
100 Denver drivers have Google Maps to blame for a short cut that turned out to be an off road experience from hell. They have themselves to blame for trusting Google Maps and the driver in front of them NOT their eyes that clearly could see the short cut Google Maps was prompting them to take, was really muddy road in the middle of a field.
