In case you missed it...
Morgan Wallen may be out of action for several more weeks (vocal rest), but he's still getting it done when it comes to racking up career achievements. His latest: his album "One Thing At A Time" is spending its eleventh week at the top of the Billboard Album charts. This ties Wallen with Whitney Houston, who's self-titled 1987 album pulled the same feat: #1 upon its release, it held the top spot for eleven weeks. The two artists trail only Stevie Wonder's classic 1977 album "Songs In The Key Of Life," which held the top spot for thirteen consecutive weeks following its release. If Morgan can hold on two more weeks, he's tied for the all-time record; three more puts him all alone in first place. Once he (should he) surpass Stevie Wonder, there is one more record he can break: the record for the most weeks in a row at #1 is the soundtrack from the movie "Titanic". Although it did not hold the top spot upon its release, it would eventually hit the top of the album chart and hold that position for 16 straight weeks in 1998.
Singer Travis Denning and his long-time girlfriend Madison Montgomery were married Saturday. The two had been engaged since the fall of 2021. Making the big announcement on Instagram, Travis wrote, "Not a bad Saturday if I do say so myself." If you look carefully at the picture of the couple engaged in a kiss, you can see to the left Madison's proud dad, country star John Michael Montgomery, looking on. Travis let Madison do most of the wedding planning. "I picked the alcohol package and the food, and I think that's kind of two of the more important things of a wedding," he explains. "Past that, I've been told to just sit down and be quiet, because truthfully, I have a horrible taste for aesthetic and luckily, Madison has great taste for it." Travis did have input in one other important aspect of the day - the first song. The couple mutually agreed on "Your Song" by Elton John. "We're both huge Elton fans, and that song, I think, just kind of speaks to both of us. It's always been our song, for sure."
