Pickleball went from obscurity to the hottest sports craze in the course of a couple years - and now it’s getting its network TV debut. The paddle sport - think tennis but played in much closer quarters - will be front and center as CBS broadcasts the Skechers Invitational Summer Championship Aug. 13th. The Invitational is a Pro Pickleball Association Tour stop (yes, there is such a thing), and it also features a celebrity competition. While A-listers like Leo DiCaprio, Matthew Perry and Jamie Foxx are avid players, the celebs taking part this weekend have not yet been made public. For fans of the sport, this is only the beginning - with “Pickled” - a two-hour primetime celebrity tournament - set to air on CBS and Paramount+ by the end of the year.
