An employee for the Japanese Waterwork Bureau had a habit of leaving three minutes early for lunch so he could buy a bento lunch. After the civil servant got busted he was fined and reprimanded. If you think we have it rough with work, they have a law that requires civil servants to only concentrate on work. That means no March Madness, no World Cup, and certainly no water cooler talk! And, before last month, workers could be forced into more than 100 hours of overtime a month.Now, that’s the cap. Why? Because workers were meeting their makers from over work. When asked why he left the office early as often as he did, the man simply said “I needed a change of pace.”
