Bill Murray is a funny man, but he apparently waxes poetic when he crashes parties. According to Deadspin, one of their readers was attending a bachelor party in Charleston, South Carolina when one of his friends spotted Murray. The guys wanted to send Bill some drinks, but he declined. Then one of the guys went down and asked the actor if he’d come up and say a few words to the groom. Murray turned him down with a, “No thanks.” The guys were a little dejected, thinking it wasn’t gonna happen. Two minutes later, Murray came up and gave a speech.
Even though it was an impromptu talk, Bill was on-point about a lot of things. For instance, he told the guys, “You know how they say funerals are for the dead, not the living? Bachelor parties are not for the groom, they’re for the unmarried. The best piece of advice he gave was this – “If you have someone that you think is the one ... take that person and travel around the world. Buy a plane ticket for the two of you to travel all around the world and go to places that are hard to go to and hard to get out of. And ... when you land at JFK and you're still in love with that person, get married.”
