It may seem early in the season, but our friends at the Center for Active Seniors is kicking off its annual fan drive. The senior center's Be A Fan To Seniors - Summer Heat Relief Program begins this month and continues through Labor Day. CASI is asking for donations of new 20" box-style fans or monetary donations to buy fans for older adults this summer. Donations can be dropped off at CASI, 1035 West Kimberly Road, Davenport, IA 52806 during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. CASI says often seniors don't have air conditioning or can't afford to run A/C all the time. Area seniors in need of a fan can contact CASI at 563.386.7477. Fans are distributed to individuals over the age of 50 with a photo I.D. Due to high demand for this program, only one fan per household.
